  | Bears Lose Terrell, Tucker2002-10-14
The Bears injury woes continued following last Monday Night`s blow-out loss against the Green Bay Packers. In the second half of the game offensive lineman Rex Tucker had to get carted off of the field, and then on one of the final plays of the game David Terrell injured his foot. Neither player?s received good news the next day.
Rex Tucker, a pro-bowl alternate last season, learned that he would miss the remainder of the season with a broken fibula and a dislocated left ankle. Tucker, signed a new six year extension in the off-season, but the Bears don?t think the injury is career threatening. Mike Gandy replaced Tucker in the guard slot after the injury and he will most likely make his first career start against Detroit in two weeks. The Bears other option would be to move Bernard Robertson from tackle to guard, a position many feel he is more suited to play.
Wide Receiver David Terrell injury wasn?t as serious, but he is expected to miss 4-5 weeks with a broken bone in his right foot. Terrell is going to undergo surgery on Thursday to repair the injury and the Bears should know more about his recovery time then. This injury has to hurt David and the Bears, as Terrell was on the verge of cracking the starting lineup. Dez White will continue to be the teams #2 receiver and the Bears will look for Marcus Robinson and Ahmad Merritt to pick up the slack. New Bear Vinny Sutherland will also see some time at the receiver position.
